These are a few of my favourite things – Friday and Dumpling King

Friday has got to be my favourite day of the week. Why, you ask? Friday’s are so awesome in my book because:

– It is the end of the working week.
– It is the start of the weekend.
– I get to do my weekly grocery shop at the incredible Adelaide Central Markets.
– I get to satisfy my dumpling craving at the Dumpling King.

Who on Earth is the Dumpling King? I was introduced to the Dumpling King by one of my girlfriend’s who took me there for lunch one day. It’s located in China Town which is next to the Adelaide Central Markets, so I’ve walked past it many, many times but have never eaten there. Boy, have I been missing something special! The Dumpling King specialises in Shanghai cuisine and the menu consists of 79 dishes (say what?!) which include dumplings, noodles, rice, veggies and more. I have tried a few dishes on the menu but I always go back to the dumplings – the fried ones are the best! My partner and I always order the fried chicken and prawn dumplings with fried Chinese broccoli….nom nom nom. The Dumpling King is one of my favourites because it is quick, cheap and tasty food.

Dishes are priced between $1.80 and $10.80, so sharing between a group of people can be very cost effective indeed! It can get very busy which means you will have to wait for a table, but because people get served really quickly, you won’t have to wait too long. Dumpling King is in two locations; in China Town and Adelaide CBD.
